Travel to Florida where the Pound is still sound

With a strong Euro, it seems people from the UK are diminishing their Eurozone travel in favour of kinder climates. Climates kinder to the Pound that is.

So where is that? Surprise! It’s the US. The points of the Pound may be falling, but as America struggles alongside us, so too does the once dominate Dollar. In short, the Pound is wonderfully sound in the States!

“America is the world travel bargain,” says Roger Dow of the Travel Industry Association.

Heading over to Florida is one of the top destinations for Britons. There are plenty of affordable flights, especially through charters and for crossing the pond, it is about as close as it gets. And of course there is the weather and the Florida golf courses.

Sun-kissed beach destinations abound on the rougher Atlantic side or on the calmer Gulf shores. Check out Florida vacation villas on or near the sea by the much coveted West Palm Beach area. Miami has visitors in droves, as does its sister city, Fort Lauderdale to the south and Tampa and St Pete are always leaders on the Gulf.

Of course Disney is the main attraction if you have kids! The US recorded a 10% increase in visitors to the States with even more expected in 2008. If you have villas in Orlando, this is an important piece of info! Keep an eye on this trend. With about a trillion things to do and see within one hour from Orlando, this is one holiday hot spot that is still sizzling!

In short- if you have a Florida vacation rental or more specifically if you have villas in Orlando you may still be looking at a good year even with the looming credit crunch casting an angry shadow over our industry.
