Richard Branson sees red over Oneworld deal

The Oneworld alliance is living up to its name as British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia move closer to three-way partnership.

The three-way link up will see BA-AA-Iberia serving 443 destinations, in 103 countries and 6,200 daily departures.  It is believed that this kind of consolidation is necessary in today’s aviation industry.

Joining forces will enable the Oneworld Alliance to provide more connections and destinations through code sharing, enhance frequent flyers perks, improve schedules, reduce costs and attract new customers which will help to offset soaring fuel costs.

The grouping is looking to enhance all aspects of its transatlantic services and expand on service across the globe.  Sir Richard Branson of Virgin is already lobbying against the partnership trying to stall if not stop the trio all together.
